Diane’s Experience with 1:1 Nutrition Coaching

“I started my journey with MFN and Rachel a year after the COVID shutdown, During that year full prior, I was eating out too much, I had excess inflammation, physical pain, and I broke my ankle, and I knew I needed to make a change to age healthfully. The biggest struggle I had at the beginning of my MFN journey was chronic pain, arthritis, excess body weight, and lack of movement. I needed to feel better. One of the biggest breakthroughs for me was understanding macronutrients and tracking my intake and how much more protein I needed–it was eye-opening. I am much healthier now: I exercise regularly and walk daily, I have reduced inflammation, and I have a more balanced intake of nutrients which has helped me feel so much better! “A year ago I had a doctor’s appointment for a physical to get a health form signed off for a Boy Scouts summer camp with my son. My doctor was hesitant on signing off on this form, and I thought, “wow this can’t be good” and that was a wake-up call. Also for Boy Scouts summer camp, we had to do the swim test and it’s pretty simple, but I couldn’t do it, I would give up the second length into it. I needed to pass the swim test in order to go on our trip to the Florida National High Adventure Sea Base in the Keys. When I first started the MFN program I struggled to do two laps in a row, now after going through the program, I can do 4 forward laps, and two sets of that so I am WAYY over the requirements now! In the past, other programs I tried –like Atkins–were always telling you to give up stuff. You can’t eat bread anymore or pasta, you have to give everything up. Ashley and Rachel never told me I could NEVER have the foods I loved but they gave me suggestions of alternative ways to add variety to my diet. My experience has been great with both Ashley and with Rachel, I can’t say enough good things about the MFN program. I now exercise 4 times per week; my health and nutrition is WAY better; I have lost 5 inches in my waist, 3 inches in my hips, 4 inches in my chest, and 30 pounds in this program! I highly recommend it, the MFN program lets you live your life while reaching your goals!

“As I am getting older, I didn’t feel as healthy as I wanted to be, my weight kept creeping up, and my labs were getting bad. I was on blood pressure and cholesterol meds, my triglycerides were getting high and pre-diabetes was in my future. I love carbs and snacking and I would graze all day and that was the biggest problem I had coming into this program. I also had tried Nutrisystem in the past and even though I lost a ton of weight quickly, I would get very ill if I tried eating “normal meals” and I put all the weight back on. “I came into this program having gone through major surgery and finding out I had a severe problem with bone health. Every doctor I talked to wanted to give me a medication for my bones and I know a lot of women who have been put on those meds and had terrible side effects. So I started considering a food-first approach and reached out to Ashley. She made me feel comfortable and helped me open up to discuss my health concerns and made me feel more confident about my situation. During this program, it became apparent that due to my emotions and brain fog that I needed further testing and Ashley mentioned testing for Candida and she was right! “I had just been diagnosed with type two diabetes, it wasn’t welcome news to receive, and I wanted to turn it around. I have been through every diet program from Jenny Craig to Nutrisystem to Seattle Suttun, and I’ve had dietitian’s that didn’t help me learn how to make long term changes.
