This recipe for a Green Collagen Smoothie Bowl is a great addition to your weekly breakfast rotation! With only 9 ingredients and no cooking time, it is a perfect breakfast option for busy people looking to improve their health (and a great alternative to the shamrock shake)!

We love hemp seeds because they are rich in healthy fats and essential fatty acids. They are also a great protein source and contain high amounts of vitamin E for eye health, phosphorus for bone health, potassium to regulate the heartbeat, sodium to maintain fluid levels in the body, magnesium for gut health, sulfur for cellular protection, calcium to build and maintain strong bones, iron for energy and focus, and zinc for immune and metabolic function.

We include collagen because it is an important structural protein in the body found in our skin, bones, muscles, tendons, and ligaments. It can improve joint pain, skin health, and reduce inflammation. It is an alternative to traditional protein powder and can improve gut health, as well as increase hair growth. Remember when purchasing collagen that type 1 and 3 collagens are generally used to support bones and skin health. Whereas type 2 is used to support joints. The type of collagen contained in the product is usually easily located on the packaging. Collagen can be especially beneficial for those who experience joint pain, leaky gut, or want to reduce the effects of aging.
